Review - NYC Liquid Lipshine:::Nude York City

Hello Divas & Gents!

Today we are taking a look at the new NYC Liquid Lipshine! This lovely lipgloss was also included in my Holiday VoxBox, and I am loving it so far. The color I received is a nice glossy nude appropriately called "Nude York City".
Lipgloss Design - Nice Slender Tube

I've always loved NYC's nail polishes and lipsticks and think that the brand offers quality and very affordable cosmetics. They are known for having "bargain cosmetics for the fashion-forward girl". The brand has "Uptown Style, Down to Earth Prices" and offers products from eyes to lips to nails and even face.

Influenster describes the New York Color Liquid Lipshine as:
"Straight from the city that never sleeps, New York Color's Liquid Lipshine is uptown style at a down-to-earth price.  With pure pigments that create a 3-D gloss effect and vitamin E that provides shine and moisture, this product is perfect to keep lips looking and feeling fabulous this season.  Comes in 10 shades from neutral nude, to berries & fuchsias."

The Verdict
The New York Color Liquid LipShine in "Nude York City" comes in a sleek tube with a black top and true to color bottom. It also has the NYC logo features on the tube along with "NYC Liquid Lipshine" written in silver text.
Silver Text with Various Fonts and NYC Logo

The applicator is a straight and flat yet flexible sponge tip applicator, which is a bit different from the traditional doe foot applicator. It actually applies the color evenly and is very easy to work with!
Applicator Design

This gloss is the perfect nude because this shade is perfect for all skintones. It sparkles and makes the lips look so pouty and pretty! It looks great on bare lips and can also be used to tone a lipcolor up or down. It is so moisturizing and has a 3D shimmer to it. It feels great on the lips and is perfect for the holidays! Not only that but it seems to be the perfect consistency -- not too glossy and not too sticky!
Name of Color is also conveniently on tube; You can see the 3D shimmer in the swatch, and is a perfect consistency.
Nude York City is quite a treat! It even smells delicious. It has somewhat of a vanilla, cupcake, marshmellow type scent. Lastly, it only retails for $2.49 in your local retail and drugstore!

This is overall a great gloss, and I'm happy that I got a chance to try it through Infuenster's VoxBox Program. I definitely plan on buying more! I have my eye on Fashion Avenue Fuschia!

You can learn more about this product on the New York Color Website (

Have you tried this gloss? If so, what do you think about it?

Disclaimer: I received this complimentary item as part of the Influenster VoxBox program.

A Christmas Message from Me to You!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Divas & Gents! I hope you have a joyous season that is filled with lots of love and happiness! Thank you for supporting both my YouTube channel and my beauty blog. I truly appreciate it and can't thank you enough. That is a Christmas present in itself!

I always spend Christmas Eve at church enjoying the beautiful and wondrous service. Last year, I had the pleasure of playing handbells and that made me really fall in love with Christmas that much more. I love being serenaded by the music and listening to the organ, cymbals, bells, and choir sing while bringing in Christmas with Jesus' birth. He truly is the reason for the season. This year is a special year because Christmas falls on a Sunday and I was able to to go to the Christmas Day service as well. It was truly worthwhile!

I won't make you read too much today, but just wanted to let you know that I love you! Enjoy your day :-)

Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry Souffle Face Mask!

Hey Divas & Gents!

I have been actively testing and enjoying this month's Holiday VoxBox. I'm going to start off by reviewing the trial size Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry Souffle mask that was in my box. I am a sucker for anything skin care and not only did the unique brand name grab my attention but the cute graphic on the front of this tear packet had me excited and anxious to try this product out.

The only product that I have ever used from this brand is the "Red Hot Earth Sauna Masque" which was given to me by a friend a year ago. It was a self-heating volcanic clay mask and felt so good on my face. It claimed to open up pores and draw out impurities, and boy did it do that and more! It was just so refreshing and calming!

This particular flavor, "Strawberry Souffle", claims to act as part of one's skin care regimen while leaving one's skin purified, hydrated, and refreshed. Since I already have a skin care regimen, this mask fit in perfectly. It says for you to cleanse your face, then apply mask and relax with it on for 15-20 minutes, rinse, and pat dry. Very simple and straight to the point!

My Verdict
I really enjoyed this face mask because it left my skin feeling so refreshed and really helped me to unwind for the night. Not only that, but it did not dry and flake up like some face masks tend to do. The mask felt so creamy and smelled delicious. The texture was perfect, smelled great, and left my skin feeling great! I would definitely recommend this mask because it definitely packs a punch!

Have you tried any of the Montagne Jeunesse Masks? If so, which one did you try and what did you think about it?

Swatch It! Kat Von D True Romance Angeles Eyeshadow Palette

Hello Divas!

I recently picked up this Kat Von D Palette and featured it in my most recent Sephora haul on my YouTube channel. I was really happy to receive it because I had been eyeing the Kat Von D Palettes for a very long time. All of her packaging is just so darling, detailed, artsy, and I love it! Not only that but she has so many variations of her True Romance eyeshadow collection and I plan on getting them all one day. This particular palette has much lighter shades when compared to her usual dark and smokey palettes. There are a few blog posts on swatches of this palette online, but some of my YouTube subscribers had requested some swatches. I'm glad they did because this would help a woman of my skintone or deeper see how the colors may look on their skin. I will also be doing a couple of looks with this palette (in the near future) so that you can get a better idea of some looks you can create!

This palette's packaging surely represents Kat Von D's artistic side! The outer packaging of the palette is a white envelope type of box with gold cross embellishments.
White Envelope Style Box with Gold Cross Embellishments
The back of the box lists the eyeshadow colors/names in correspondence to their location. I wish the illustration on the back was in color in order of each eyeshadow so that I could easily refer to the back when looking for names of each shadow but I appreciate them being there. It also features a quote along with the name of the palette.

On the inside of the envelope style box is a blue lining and the actual palette is "wrapped" in dark gray tissue paper and sealed with a very nice Kat Von D sticker. I was so excited that I virtually tore into it.
Inside of white envelope style box...soo neat!

I was so excited that I had already started to dig in!
The Kat Von D True Romance Angeles Palette itself is white with black cross and tattoo type embellishments. It also features the Kat Von D logo in turquoise and the palette has a very secure snap clasp which makes it perfect to travel with! It also features a full size mirror which I thought was very neat along with two dual end applicators. Since this palette is white, you have to really be careful when handling the palette so that it doesn't stain.

Now let's look inside!

The palette is divided up into 8 shades - 4 neutral/warm colors and then 4 cool colors. Within these shades are 6 shimmery shades, 1 matte shade, and 1 cream eyeshadow. The combination of both warm and cool colors are what attracted me to this palette. Usually, I am always a fan of a matte dark brown but this particular brown was very pretty but didn't swatch as easily as the shimmer shadows. The first shade in bronze is beyond gorgeous.

L to R: Venus: Shimmery Bronze, Leather: Dark Matte Chocolate Brown, Specimen: Medium Pearl Taupe Brown , Rehab: A Pearly Beige/Champagne; Peggy: Pearl Turquoise, Bukowski: Pearl Aqua, Bellbottom: Pearl Slate Blue, Morphine: Cream Iridescent White

Neutral/Bronze/Gold Shades:
Venus is such a highly pigmented and gorgeous bronze and I can't wait to play with it! Leather has average pigmentation but doesn't swatch nearly as much as the shimmery shades. This shade will probably be good if used as a crease color or even a contour shade. It's definitely an all-purpose dark brown and that's what I like about it. Specimen also had good pigmentation. Rehab also had very good pigmentation and is very smooth.
Venus, Leather, Specimen, Rehab

Cool/Teal/Blue Shades: Peggy is so beautiful! I absolutely love this color. It is a turquoise type green with flecks of yellow shimmer. When I first swatched it, I was in awe. The picture doesn't do it any justice!!! Bukowski is also another one of my favorites in this palette. This particular color has more of a blue base to it and has excellent pigmentation -- would be perfect for a peacock inspired look. Bellbottom is such a unique color and I don't believe I own anything like it in my collection but didn't seem to swatch all that way on my skin. It reminds me of a cornflower type of color. Morphine is an interesting cream shadow shade and would be very nice when used as a base for any of the blues, aquas and teal colors in this palette. It is sheer white with iridescent glitter when blended out.
Peggy, Bukowski, Bellbottom, Morphine

I also have live footage of the swatches live along with the vibrancy of the colors in the palette live. Let me know if you want me to add it to this blog post.

I think this palette is mostly worth it for its current price point. It is on sale for $15 which is more than half of of it's originally price of $34! I am very impressed with 5 or 6 out of the 8 shades and I particularly like how one could use this palette to transition from fall/winter to spring/summer. I am always looking for palettes that have multiple functions and the fact that there is a mixture of finishes also does the trick!

Do you own this palette? What do you think of it?

Influenster Holiday VoxBox Goodies! (Unboxing)

Hey Ladies & Gents!

I am back again with my second VoxBox opening! To find out more about the Influenster program and what I received in the first VoxBox, you can view the following blog post: Influenster & Cosmo VoxBox. This time I received the Holiday VoxBox which is centered around the holiday time. I was also chosen to receive one of the bonus products based on my badges and demographics. You can watch me opening up my VoxBox here:

Here is what I received along with an in-depth description of what I will be testing out and providing my honest feedback on. I'm excited for another VoxBox series because I get to provide my honest feedback on new products which you may be thinking about purchasing may have been skeptical in purchasing.

My first look!
A closer look :)
Now, let's take a look inside!

I was first selected to receive a BONUS product and was very delighted. I received the Garden Lash Botanika Lash Primer which is said to take lashes from "fine to fabulous". One simply brushes this primer on bare lashes, lets it dry, and then applies one's mascara. It claims to lengthen, thicken, and condition your lashes so that they are longer, healthier, and fuller. I have been on a mascara kick so this came just in time!

The next product I will be testing and evaluating is the imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails. I always hear such great things about Broadway Nails so I'm looking forward to trying this out. It claims to be a revolutionary way to apply nail polish and is supposed to give you a "salon-perfect" manicure in seconds. You would simply peel off, press on, and you're good to go! They come in a variety of colors and patterns, but I received a really cute animal print called Space Cadet.

I also received the SoftSoap Coconut Scrub Bar Soap. I am also very excited to try this product because I am a big fan of the liquid body wash and use it daily. This Coconut Scrub Bar Soap claims to renew one's skin by gently exfoliating to renew one's skin surface while helping to retaining moisture. It comes in other exotic fragrances as well.

Next is the Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask which is jam-packed with natural ingredients are comes in many "juicy fragrances". I received the Strawberry Souffle flavor and am excited to try this out because I am also passionate about skin care.

We also received a New York Color Liquid Lip Shine which should be familiar with alot of us in the beauty community. I have always adored NYC products --from their nail polish to lipsticks. I have already started to test this product and am loving it so far. This particular gloss creates a 3-D gloss effect and has Vitamin E to provide shine and moisture. It also comes in 10 shades from neutral to berries and fuschias.

Mentos Pure Fresh Gum was the next item that was in the box. I am a big fan of the Mentos Pure Fresh Gum so I am excited about getting to try a new flavor. It has a crunchy outer shell which conceals a green tea extract core that is strong and refreshing! I also enjoy the unique container that it comes in.

Mentos Pure Fresh Gum in "Fresh Mint"

Last, but not least is the Larabar. The LARABAR is made from only 2-9 ingredients with a delicious blend of just fruits, nuts, and spices. I've always seen these bars but never got to try them. I think this may aid in my weightloss journey but we'll see!
LARABAR in "Cherry Pie"

Have you tried any of the products that I've mentioned? If so, what did you think about it?

Don't forget to stay tuned to my reviews on these lovely products!

Clarisonic Mia (Berry) Unboxing & Initial Thoughts!

Hello Ladies & Gents,

I got my hands on a Clarisonic Mia and am beyond excited! Of course it's one of my favorite colors ---pink! I had been eyeing a Mia for the longest time and I cannot wait to see the results that it produces. The Clarisonic Mia is a compact skin cleansing system that just takes one minute a day and is said to produce the best skin of your life. If you are familiar with the Sonicare brush system (which is another favorite tool of mine), the Mia uses the same Sonic technology and moves Clarisonic's brush back and forth at more than 300 times per second which thoroughly clears the pores and skin surface.

Clarisonic Mia Claims:

- Removes makeup six times better than traditional methods.
- Clears pores and reduces the appearance of pore size.
- Cleanses so thoroughly that skincare products absorb better.
- Creates noticeably healthier looking skin.

(from Sephora website)

I will test out these claims in the coming months and let you know my opinion on it!

You can view the video of me unboxing it here:

Here are a few pics of what you will receive when you purchase a Mia:

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette!

Hello Ladies & Gents!

For all of you "Naked" fans, Urban Decay has officially released the Naked 2!!! I opted out of the original Naked Palette because I had NYX's Nude on Nude palette which was less costly and worked well for me. But after reading about the Naked 2, I may invest in this one because of the extra gloss and the dual-ended brush that they included. Don't you want to have glossy lips after you are done applying your shadow?

Would I get the Naked 2?
I wouldn't get both palettes because most of the shades are very similar to the warm tone neutral shades from the first palette with a few dupes (i.e. Half Baked)! Not only that, but some of the shades are very comparable to various brands including some of the shades in the Wet 'n Wild "Comfort Zone" 8-pan palette which came out last year. The packaging does seem to be very different from the first Naked palette. It is packaged in a metal tin and is said to be a bit heavier though still similar in size whereas the original had a velvety type texture. It comes with 12 eyeshadows, a full sized dual-ended brush, and the Urban Decay Naked Lip Junkie Lipgloss. You can purchase this palette on the Urban Decay website for $50. They are currently sold out of their first shipment but if you get on the email list, you'll get first dibs!

Click on the image to head over to the Urban Decay site!
You can find out very detailed information on Temptalia's blog post of the new Naked 2 palette! She goes into extreme detail for each eyeshadow color and also gives suggestions for dupes. It is definitely worth the read!!!
